Police in Bauchi State have arrested three people linked to a murder and robbery case in Gwaram Town, Alkaleri Local Government Area.
The police spokesman, SP Nafiu Habib, shared this news in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the suspects were arrested after police looked into a report made at the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters on March 7, 2026.
One of the suspects, Muhammad Umar, known as "Jijji," is 25 years old. He was caught on June 19, 2026, with a motorcycle that belonged to the victim.
During questioning, Umar reportedly admitted to the crime and named two other suspects.
"Following the report made at Alkaleri Division on March 7, 2026, one suspect, Alhaji Muhammad Umar, alias 'Jijji', 25 years old, was arrested on June 19, 2026, with a motorcycle belonging to the victim.
"While being interrogated, 'Jijji' revealed the names of two other accomplices. In a quick follow-up operation, detectives also caught Usman M. Gidado, 45, and Danladi Yakubu, known as 'Pagaj', 35, all from Gwaram Town, where the crime took place," the statement said.
Habib mentioned that the motorcycle belonging to the victim was seized as evidence during the operation.
He also said that the suspects, along with the recovered motorcycle, have been moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
"As a result, all three suspects and the motorcycle have been sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for a detailed investigation. They will face charges in court afterward," he added.
The spokesman pointed out that the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, praised the officers for their hard work and professionalism.
He assured the people of Bauchi State that the police are dedicated to fighting violent crime and delivering justice to victims.
"The Bauchi State Police Command is determined to tackle violent crime and provide justice for victims at all times," the commissioner stated.
