Unknown man found dead in Niger building

An unknown man was found dead in an uncompleted building in the Albishiri Area of Chanchaga Local Government Area, Niger.

Community leader Dangana Abubakar said residents spotted the body hanging inside the building on Thursday morning.

He mentioned that this is the second time a dead body has been found in an uncompleted building in the area.

Abubakar added that the man has not yet been identified. He urged residents to stay calm while authorities look into the matter.

Niger State Police Command spokesman SP Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the news. He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that police got the report around 7am on Thursday.

Abiodun also said that initial observations suggest it might be a suicide case.

"Meanwhile, the Chanchaga Local Government Social Welfare Department has been contacted for necessary action, while further investigation is ongoing," the police spokesman said.
