A youth group, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has praised the Enugu State Government led by Mr Peter Mbah after the successful rescue of people taken from Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Inoyi-Affa in Udi Local Government Area.
The chairman of the NYCN in Enugu State, Barth Ebuka Okoh, made this known. He said the rescue and recovery of the ransom money are important wins in the ongoing fight to improve security and protect all residents in the state.
Okoh commended Governor Mbah for his constant investment in modern security tools. This includes surveillance systems, drones, vehicles, communication devices, and the state’s Command and Control security setup.
He mentioned that the successful rescue and the arrest of those linked to the kidnapping show how effective technology-based security measures are. He also noted the improved teamwork among security agencies during the operation.
Okoh further praised the security agencies for their professionalism, bravery, and dedication to protecting lives and properties in Enugu State.
The NYCN State chairman emphasized that security is key to the state's growth. He pointed out that a safe environment is vital for young people to pursue education, start businesses, find jobs, and engage in other productive activities.
He urged security agencies to keep up the good work and make sure all suspects are brought to justice.
“A safer Enugu is a stronger Enugu, and a stronger Enugu provides a better future for our youths,” Okoh said.
The Enugu State NYCN chapter also showed support for the rescued victims and their families. They praised the state government for its efforts to make Enugu a place where criminals cannot operate.
