Cross River State Backs Tinubu and Otu for 2027 Elections

A former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, believes that Cross River State will support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and Governor Bassey Otu’s second term in the 2027 elections.

Edu is the Co-Director of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Directorate. She spoke during an APC rally in Calabar. This information was shared in a statement to PUNCH Online on Tuesday.

She said, “Cross River State is 100 per cent behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and Governor Bassey Otu’s second-term ambition.”

Edu called the rally a sign of the party’s unity and support in the state. She stated, “The rally is a powerful demonstration of the unity, strength, and unwavering commitment of the APC family in Cross River.”

She encouraged party members, especially women and youths, to keep the energy going. She urged them to engage with the community, mobilise supporters, and sensitise voters as they prepare for the 2027 elections.

The rally had several notable attendees. Vice-President Kashim Shettima was there along with Senate President Godswill Akpabio. APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda also attended, along with governors from Cross River, Imo, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Edo states.

Other attendees included members of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, political leaders, and supporters.
