Dankwambo, Goje miss Gombe APC meeting as campaign councils launch
Ibrahim Dankwambo and Danjuma Goje were absent from the APC meeting in Gombe where campaign councils were launched. Their political future remains uncertain.

Former Gombe State governors Ibrahim Dankwambo and Danjuma Goje were not present on Thursday when the All Progressives Congress launched its advisory and 2027 campaign councils in the state. The councils have a total of 666 members.
The APC shared a three-part list. Dankwambo is listed as number seven on the campaign council and number six on the advisory council.
Goje appears as number five on the advisory council and number six on the Gombe State campaign council as a patron.
The two former governors are included on the lists despite their political ties and recent election results.
Dankwambo, who is currently a senator for Gombe North Senatorial District, is a key member of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state. Goje, who represents Gombe Central Senatorial District, recently lost his effort to return to the Senate.
When our reporter reached out to Dankwambo to check if he knew about his nomination to the APC advisory and campaign councils, he said no.
He simply replied, “No.”
At the inauguration in Gombe on Thursday, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya told members of the APC campaign and advisory councils to rally residents and party members for the 2027 general elections.

He emphasized that this effort is important for the party’s success as they prepare for the elections. “This is critical to our party’s electoral victory as preparations for the 2027 polls heat up,” Yahaya said.
The governor also asked the people of Gombe State to support President Bola Tinubu’s second term bid. He said Tinubu’s re-election would help the state continue to enjoy benefits from the Federal Government’s development projects.
Yahaya thanked the people for their ongoing support for his government, which has helped him deliver on his promises.
Earlier, Jamilu Gwamna, the APC governorship candidate in Gombe State, promised to continue the progress made by the current administration.
He said he would focus on projects that benefit the people, assuring residents that his government would consider everyone's needs in the state’s development. “Our administration will carry everyone along in the state’s development,” Gwamna said.
Usman Bayero, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, also urged council members to stay dedicated and active in working for the party’s success in 2027.
Bayero called Gombe an APC stronghold and encouraged members to support Tinubu’s re-election. “Gombe is an APC stronghold. Members should mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election. Everyone can attest to the Federal Government’s projects across the state,” he said.
