Epe LG Chair Promises Big Votes for Hamzat in 2027

The Chairman of Epe Local Government Area in Lagos State, Surah Animashaun, believes that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, will get a lot of votes in the 2027 elections. She also thinks other APC candidates will do well in the council.

Animashaun shared her thoughts in a statement released to PUNCH Online on Saturday. She spoke during a conversation with Hamzat after he arrived for his manifesto unveiling in Epe. She is also a member of the Lagos State Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

She is confident because of the projects being carried out by the APC-led Federal Government and the Lagos State Government. Animashaun said these achievements would be a big part of the party's campaign as the elections draw near.

She mentioned that the party's performance in office would help gain support from the people of Epe and other areas in the state. "Indeed, our work will speak for us. Support Dr. Hamzat, President Tinubu, and the APC-led government so that we can finish the jobs we have started, especially the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, Trans-Sahara Superhighway, electricity grid upgrades, and the modernization of key commercial ports in Lagos as some of the deliverables from new loans," Animashaun said.

The council chairman called on the people of Epe and nearby communities to support Hamzat, as well as President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections. She said that continuing governance would help the party build on the ongoing development projects in Lagos State and across Nigeria.

Animashaun also noted that her discussion with Hamzat showed how important unity and cooperation are among political leaders who care about Lagos's growth. She said, "The interaction reflected a strong sense of mutual respect, understanding, and political solidarity among leaders committed to the development and progress of the state."

"The cordial exchange also highlighted the importance of unity, collaboration, and inclusive leadership in building a greater Lagos," she added. During the event, Hamzat called the APC a strong political party for the upcoming elections in 2027. He pointed out that the economic reforms and policies from the Tinubu administration would be key parts of the party's campaign message.

Hamzat expressed trust in the President’s leadership. He said the administration's policies and programs were meant to improve the Nigerian economy. He also promised to work hard to make Lagos more prosperous and economically strong if he becomes governor in 2027.

"We are going to campaign on the records that the President and his administration have laid a good record and massive economic recovery in the last three and a half years, as well as the incumbent governor of the state," Hamzat said. He stressed that the achievements of both the Federal and Lagos State governments would be important in the APC’s campaign as the party seeks support from voters for the 2027 elections.
