A Chief Magistrate's Court No. 12 in Gombe State has ordered that a constable, Idris Salisu, be held over claims of threatening police officers.
The court, led by Chief Magistrate Musa Wadachi, made this decision on Thursday after Salisu faced charges of criminal intimidation under Section 396 of the Penal Code Law.
The prosecutor, Aliyu Ibrahim Garba, told the court that Salisu allegedly committed the crime in July 2026 around 1pm.
Garba said Salisu went to the Barunde Police Outpost, picked up a knife, and threatened to kill two police officers, ASP Sule and Inspector Peter Joel.
He stated, "The defendant went to the Barunde Police Outpost with a knife and threatened to kill two police officers, ASP Sule and Inspector Peter Joel."

According to the prosecutor, this act violated Section 396 of the Penal Code Law.
After the charge was read to him, Salisu admitted his guilt.
The court then ordered his remand and pushed the case hearing to November 9, 2026.
