Gunmen Leave Plateau University Student After Security Forces Act
A 100-level female student from Plateau State University was rescued after being abducted. Security forces' quick action led to her captors fleeing.

Gunmen have left a 100-level female student of Plateau State University in Bokkos after a joint security operation made them run away in Bokkos Local Government Area.
The student was taken on Saturday night from an off-campus area where many students live. Another person was shot and hurt during the attack.
Masara Kim, the Acting Public Relations Officer of the university, confirmed the news to reporters in Jos on Tuesday. He said the student was found after her abductors abandoned her.
“She was abandoned by her captors after the university, in collaboration with a joint security team, launched an operation that forced them to flee on sighting the advancing team,” Kim said.
He mentioned that the victim had been taken to a hospital for medical checks and was receiving care.

Kim also said the university is working with security agencies to keep students and staff safe in and around the school.
He praised security personnel for their quick action during the situation.
As of now, the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, Alabo Alfred, has not replied to questions from our reporter about the incident.
