Kano Governor Congratulates Yari on APC Campaign Role

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has sent his congratulations to former Zamfara State Governor and Senator for Zamfara West, Abdul’aziz Yari. This is over his new role as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections.

The news came through a statement from the governor's spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa. A copy of this statement was shared with PUNCH Online on Monday.

Yusuf praised Yari’s appointment, saying it shows his rich political experience, strong leadership skills, and dedication to Nigeria’s growth.

“Yari’s experience in governance and legislative leadership will help in coordinating the party’s campaign and mobilising support ahead of the 2027 elections,” Yusuf said.

The governor expressed trust in Yari’s ability to handle the new role. He urged Yari to stay focused on keeping the party united and progressing.

Yusuf prayed to Allah for wisdom, strength, and good health for Yari as he starts this new job.

PUNCH Online noted that the APC Presidential Campaign Council was officially formed on August 22. President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima were named chairman and vice-chairman.

The party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, also became a vice-chairman. Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, was named as the secretary.

Yari served as Zamfara State governor from 2011 to 2019 and currently represents Zamfara West in the Senate. He will lead the ruling party’s presidential campaign as they work towards Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Since his appointment, Yari has stated that the APC will keep its promises to Nigerians. Supporters and party leaders have called his selection a sign of his political experience and ability to organize.
