Troops from the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke killed two suspected bandits in Kogi State. They recovered weapons during a follow-up search.

Troops from Sector 3 of the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke shot and killed two suspected bandits during an ambush on the Adankolo, Apata Road in Kogi State on Saturday.
The Acting Media Information Officer for HQ JTF Operation Whirl Stroke shared this news on Saturday through a post on the Nigerian Army’s X handle. This operation came after solid intelligence about suspected criminals moving around Kabba-Bunu and Lokoja Local Government Areas.
The troops set up an ambush along a route known for supplies to the bandits. They made contact with the group and forced them to flee.
“Later the same morning, during a follow-up search, troops recovered the bodies of the two suspected bandits in the Adankolo Forest area.

“Items recovered included one locally made pistol, one cartridge, and one empty 7.62mm special ammunition case,” the post stated.
Major General Moses Gara, the Force Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke and General Officer Commanding the 5 Division, praised the troops for their success. He also urged the public to keep giving timely information to security agencies.
