Lagos-Ibadan crash: Injured passenger dies in hospital
A passenger critically injured in a Lagos-Ibadan Expressway crash has died at a hospital. The crash involved a bus and left multiple people hurt.

The only passenger who was in critical condition after a road crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has died at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, Ogun State.
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency gave this update on Saturday. They said the passenger died while getting treatment.
This information came from a report by the TRACE Unit Commander, Saapade, Cmdr Oridota P.O. He visited the hospital on Saturday morning.
The spokesperson for Ogun TRACE, Akinbiyi Babatunde, shared this with our correspondent. PUNCH Online reports that the update does not reveal the deceased passenger's name, age, or sex.
The hospital management announced the passenger's death during the visit. This change marks a sad turn in the incident, which had already left 13 people injured on Friday, according to TRACE.
"During the post-crash visit to OOUTH Sagamu this morning, the hospital management announced that the only passenger in critical condition taken to OOUTH has passed on," the report stated.
Earlier, TRACE reported that the crash involved a Mazda bus carrying 18 people. The bus overturned after a tyre burst and hit a concrete barrier on the Lagos-bound side of the expressway.

The agency listed the injured victims as two men, eight women, and three children. They were taken to three hospitals for treatment. One went to OOUTH, nine to Divine Hospital in Ogere, and three to Isara General Hospital. The initial report did not mention any deaths.
The accident caught public attention when Nollywood actor Kunle Afod raised concerns about the lack of emergency responders at the scene. He shared a video on his Instagram page on Friday.
In the video, Afod said he waited about 20 minutes without seeing an ambulance or emergency personnel. He called on the Ogun State Government, the Federal Road Safety Corps, and other emergency agencies to help the victims.
On Saturday, the Ogun State Government responded to the actor's claims. They said an ambulance and FRSC personnel arrived at the scene just 10 minutes after the accident was reported.
The government stated that a passerby reported the crash at the FRSC point in Ogere at 12:18 PM. The ambulance and FRSC personnel got there by 12:28 PM.
They said victims were taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere, while those with more serious injuries were moved to OOUTH in Sagamu. The government accused Afod of turning the incident into a political issue, which was part of their response to his complaint.
