A man died in a crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway involving a Mercedes-Benz and a bus. The hit-and-run driver fled the scene after the accident.

A man whose identity is not yet known has died in a crash involving a Mercedes-Benz C300 and a bus on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the Magboro area of Ogun State.
Reports say the accident happened on Monday in Magboro, which is part of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.
Officials from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency and police officers confirmed to our reporter at the site that a hit-and-run driver was involved in the crash.
An eyewitness, who did not want to be named due to the sensitive nature of the incident, said a footballer and others from his academy were on their way to a match in two vehicles when a trailer reportedly hit the Mercedes-Benz, causing it to collide with the bus.

"We were going for a match. We just saw a trailer cross from the other side and hit this Benz, then it hit the bus. Only one person died in the car while the rest of us survived."
"Everyone on the bus is fine, too. The trailer driver fled with his vehicle afterwards," the eyewitness said.
The Mercedes-Benz, with registration number SMK-878KX, was severely damaged, and efforts were ongoing to remove its wreckage from the expressway.
