A serious traffic jam has hit the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway due to a four-vehicle crash. LASTMA is on the scene managing traffic and helping drivers.

A serious traffic jam has hit the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in Lagos State due to a four-vehicle crash. Reports say there are unconfirmed casualties.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) shared this news in a statement on X on Tuesday. They said the accident took place at Cele Express, heading towards Mile 2.
The vehicles in the accident include a Hilux van, a truck loaded with containers, a patrol van, and a Toyota car.
LASTMA pointed to a suspected mechanical issue as the cause, likely brake failure. Victims from the crash have already been taken to the hospital.
The agency mentioned that its officers are out on the road at key points along the expressway. They are there to help manage traffic and guide drivers to alternative routes to avoid more accidents.

In the statement on X, LASTMA said, "A multiple accident caused by mechanical fault/brake failure involving a Hilux van, a containerised heavy-duty truck, a patrol van, and a Toyota car occurred at Cele Express inward Mile 2 along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. This led to an unconfirmed number of casualties who have been rushed to the hospital. The traffic situation is serious at the moment, with proactive LASTMA officers at strategic points to advise and divert motorists to safe corridors to prevent further casualties. Drive cautiously at all times."
This crash comes just days after another accident on Alaro City Bridge, which involved a truck and a commercial bus. That incident sadly claimed four lives and left 13 others with serious injuries.
Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA's spokesperson, stated on 28 October that the truck driver was also badly hurt, with both legs trapped in the wreckage and later lost.
