Makinde and Running Mate to Launch Reset Nigeria Agenda on 4 November
Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde will present the Reset Nigeria Agenda manifesto with his running mate Lawal Daura on November 4 at Transcorp Hotels in Abuja.

Oyo State governor and presidential candidate for the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, along with his running mate, Lawal Daura, will present their Reset Nigeria Agenda manifesto. This document will detail their policies and priorities if they win the election.
A notice from the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation, shared with PREMIUM TIMES, states the event will take place on Wednesday, 4 November, at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hotels and Suites in Abuja.
The manifesto is titled “Manifesto and Policy Document (2027, 2031)”. It will outline the campaign's policy direction and key priorities for the upcoming general election.
This unveiling will gather political leaders, democracy advocates, and other important figures from Nigeria and beyond.
"This noble event will bring together dignitaries from all over the world, political leaders in Nigeria, friends of democracy, and other stakeholders for the formal presentation of the Manifesto and Policy Document," the notice said.
The Reset Nigeria Agenda
Mr Makinde described the Reset Nigeria Agenda as focusing on four main pillars: resetting the economy, restructuring the country’s security, reforming education, and resetting the socio-political system.
He explained that the economic pillar aims to build a productive economy, lower living costs and business expenses, enhance infrastructure, and create more opportunities for both businesses and households.
On security, he called for a reorganisation of the country’s security system. He stressed the need for better intelligence gathering, early warning systems, coordination among security agencies, and community safety.

Education reform is another priority. He believes Nigeria needs to improve learning outcomes, tackle the issue of out-of-school children, and provide young people with the skills they need.
The fourth pillar aims to restructure the socio-political system, which includes strengthening institutions, enhancing governance, and giving more responsibilities to states within Nigeria’s federal system.
Mr Makinde stated that this agenda was created after talking with Nigerians through town hall meetings across all six geopolitical zones.
At the APM’s final zonal town hall meeting in Enugu on 29 October, he noted that the campaign gathered the concerns and expectations of citizens instead of making policies without their input.
"We do not simply manufacture policies out of thin air. We listen to our people, hear what they want to see, and incorporate their expectations into our agenda," he said.
He added that the manifesto would address the issues raised during these consultations and present the campaign’s solutions to the country’s problems.
The governor expressed his desire to bring to the national level the experience of rebuilding trust between the government and the people of Oyo State.
