The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has shared the approved costs for the 2027 Hajj. Pilgrims from the northern and southern parts of Nigeria are expected to pay between ₦7.67 million and ₦7.88 million.

In a statement released on Friday in Abuja, the commission stated that the federal government approved the fares after discussions with state pilgrims’ welfare boards and service providers in Saudi Arabia. They also took into account the current exchange rates and service costs for the pilgrimage.

According to the new prices, pilgrims leaving from Maiduguri and Yola will pay ₦7,560,822. Those from the northern zone will pay ₦7,672,822, while pilgrims from the southern zone will pay ₦7,882,822.

NAHCON mentioned that those who have already paid a deposit of ₦5 million must settle the remaining balance to complete their registration. It also advised new registrants to make payments through their State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies, or Commissions, or through approved banks under the Hajj Savings Scheme.

Payment Deadlines

The commission set 26 September 2026 as the final date for uploading biometric data of intending pilgrims on the Saudi-approved Nusuk-Masar digital platform.

States have until 2 December 2026 to send all 2027 Hajj fares. NAHCON warned that there would be no extensions. They explained that timely payments are crucial for data synchronization and seat allocation for pilgrims.

APPROVED FARES AND PAYMENT DEADLINE FOR 2027 HAJJ

In line with transparency and the federal government’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims, NAHCON announces the approved fares for the 2027 Hajj. The fares were determined after consultations with the leadership of the Forum of State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and key service providers in Saudi Arabia, considering current exchange rates and service costs.

The approved 2027 Hajj fares, based on departure zones, are as follows:

S/N| Zone| Approved Hajj Fare
1| Maiduguri/Yola Zone| ₦7,560,822.00
2| Northern Zone| ₦7,672,822.00
3| Southern Zone| ₦7,882,822.00

Intending pilgrims who have already deposited ₦5,000,000.00 need to pay the remaining balance to complete their registration. New registrants should make payments through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies, or Commissions or through any participating bank in the approved Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS).

In strict compliance with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s policy, NAHCON has set September 26, 2026, as the absolute deadline for uploading intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the Nusuk-Masar digital platform. States must complete the remittance of all 2027 Hajj fares by December 2, 2026. No extensions will be granted, as data synchronization and seat allocations depend on timely payments.

The Commission wants to stress that failing to meet these deadlines will result in losing allocated Hajj spots.
