NIS to offer passport services in four UK cities

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a special passport service for Nigerians living in the United Kingdom.

This service will help Nigerians in the UK get new passports, renew old ones, and fix any pending passport issues.

The NIS shared this news in a statement on Monday. The service will run in London, Manchester, Aberdeen, and Cardiff this September.

In London, the service will take place at Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road, London N14 4UW. In Manchester, Nigerians can go to Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane, Manchester M14 5NE. Both London and Manchester will offer these services from September 7 to 19, 2026.

The service will also be available in Aberdeen and Cardiff from September 21 to 26. In Aberdeen, it will be at Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, Aberdeen AB24 4NR. In Cardiff, the venue will be Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk, Cardiff CF11 9XR.

The NIS has sent a Passport Intervention Team from Abuja to handle this exercise.

"All eligible Nigerians in the specified locations, including nearby areas, who want to get new passports, renew their passports, or fix pending applications are encouraged to take part and visit the venues on the scheduled dates," it said.

The NIS explained that this intervention follows orders from the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. They also consulted with the Nigerian High Commission and representatives from Nigerian communities in the UK.

Nigerians interested in these services must complete their applications and make payments through the NIS Passport Application portal before attending.

Applicants should arrive at the venue with their completed application forms, payment slips, appointment slips, and a self-addressed return envelope.

"Applicants who come with cash will not be attended to. They must cooperate fully with officials to ensure everything runs smoothly," the NIS stated.

The NIS also mentioned that all digital passport application channels, including the Contactless Passport Application System, are still available. The home delivery service is also open for applicants.
