No Intimidation Allowed in Osun Election, Says Oyebamiji

The All Progressives Congress candidate for the Osun State Governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has said that intimidation of voters will not be tolerated during the election.

Oyebamiji made this statement on Wednesday while campaigning in the Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency. He spoke to party supporters in Okuku, Osun State.

He encouraged voters to collect their Permanent Voter’s Card during the ongoing distribution. He also dismissed claims that the election might be violent, urging voters to come out and participate without fear.

“I am urging you to keep your PVC safe. Those that just registered, please go and get it on time. Work with our party officials at the local government level to get your PVC easily. Once you get it, don’t sell it. It is your power and license to take part in the August 15 election.

“I assure you that no one can intimidate or harass you not to participate in the poll. Any thug or hoodlum caught harassing people will be dealt with by security operatives,” Oyebamiji said.

Oyebamiji's Plans for Osun

When discussing his plans if elected, he promised to treat all areas of the state fairly. He said his manifesto is designed to support every part of the state and every sector.

Going into more detail, Oyebamiji said, “For the rural areas, our focus is to use agriculture to develop your economy and provide basic infrastructure that will help farmers and reduce hunger in the state.

“Don’t let the rumors about election violence distract you. The current government is due for a change. A new era of development will start. I will ensure that health, education, and commerce get the attention they need.”

In Ikirun, while speaking to APC members, Oyebamiji expressed his willingness to listen to the needs of the people. He aims to strengthen participatory governance.

Voters in Osun State will go to the polls on August 15 to choose a governor. The current governor, Ademola Adeleke, is seeking reelection with the Accord Party. Thirteen other political parties, including APC, are also fielding candidates in the election.
