Ogun Police Find Stolen Car in Ondo

The Ogun State Police Command has found a stolen, unregistered Lexus ES350 car in Ondo State. This happened after a special operation by its Special Weapons and Tactics Squad.

The car was reportedly taken by armed robbers around 2am on September 15, 2026, in Ogijo, located in the Sagamu Local Government area.

The command shared this news in a statement on Friday. The statement came from Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi.

Babaseyi explained that the police acted quickly after they got the robbery report. The Officer-in-Charge of SWAT, Obeh Eneye, instructed his team to start investigations and find those responsible.

Babaseyi said, "The Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Squad of the Ogun State Police Command has recovered a stolen, unregistered Lexus ES350 saloon car in Ondo State, following sustained intelligence-led efforts.

"The recovery followed a report received on 15 September 2026 that suspected armed robbers had snatched a red Lexus ES350 saloon car at about 0200hrs in the Ogijo area of Ogun State. The vehicle had no registration number."

"Acting on the report, the Officer-in-Charge of SWAT, SP Obeh Eneye, directed operatives to commence investigations and pursue available leads towards recovering the vehicle and identifying those responsible."

The statement also mentioned that investigations are still going on to catch other suspects linked to the robbery and recover more stolen items.

The Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, praised the officers for their hard work. He highlighted their professionalism and commitment to intelligence-led policing, recovering stolen items, and prosecuting offenders.

Ojajuni advised vehicle owners to make sure their cars are registered and show valid registration numbers. This helps with identification, ownership checks, and tracking stolen vehicles.

He also encouraged residents to quickly report any suspicious activities. He asked them to share reliable information with the police, promising that the command is dedicated to protecting lives and property in the state.
