The senator for Ondo North Senatorial District, Olajide Ipinsagba, has urged angry members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State to accept the results of the party’s primary election peacefully.
The primary election results have caused a stir in the state. Some party members have protested in Akure, the state capital, against the list of candidates for the National Assembly election. This list was released by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party and sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Those unhappy with the results claim that the candidates’ list from the NWC does not represent the true outcome of the National Assembly primaries.
In a statement shared with our reporter on Sunday, Ipinsagba emphasized the need for all party members to put aside their differences and work together for the party as the 2027 general election approaches.
He said the primary result should be a reason for all APC members in the state to unite for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu. He also mentioned the party’s candidates for the National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly.
Ipinsagba stated, “I want to appeal to all our party members across Ondo North Senatorial District and Ondo State in general to close ranks, embrace reconciliation, and work collectively towards securing greater victories for our great party in future elections.
“We have the presidential, National Assembly and state House of Assembly elections next year. We need to be united to face these elections and achieve victory.
“Unity remains the strongest pillar for sustaining our great party’s electoral successes and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.”
The senator praised President Bola Tinubu for the smart way he handled the APC nomination process. He said this shows the President’s commitment to democracy, fairness, and party unity.
Ipinsagba called on all party members to keep supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He believes the administration will keep working on policies that promote national development, economic growth, and lasting peace across Nigeria.
He also thanked party leaders, delegates, political allies, grassroots mobilisers, youths, women, and many supporters from the six local government areas of Ondo North Senatorial District for their help during the recent primary and throughout his time in the Senate.
“I will continue to be available to my constituents and dedicated to improving policies and programs that will boost socio-economic development, enhance infrastructure, empower youth and women, and promote the overall welfare of the people of Ondo North,” the senator promised.
