Oyebamiji Confident of Winning Osun Election, Says Residents Want Change

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, is sure he can beat Governor Ademola Adeleke in the election coming up on August 15.

Oyebamiji, also known as AMBO, dismissed claims that his strength comes from support by the Federal Government. He said his real backing is from the people of Osun.

He spoke during a Townhall meeting on Tuesday. He responded to the opposition's claims that he was relying on "federal might" to win.

Oyebamiji shared that he has visited many places across the state and believes that people are ready for change.

"I have visited 30-plus local government areas in Osun State three times. Nobody has ever done that," he said.

The APC candidate explained that his first visits were to check if party members were ready to take over the government. His later visits focused on rallying support and talking with community leaders.

"I have to go and consult the party members if we are ready to take this government or not, and the response was overwhelming. Everybody responded and said that yes, we need to take this government," he said.

Oyebamiji added that he also visited local governments to introduce campaign canvassers. He believes this activity confirmed that voters want a change.

"I have to go around the local government to inaugurate those canvassers, and they were charged, they were motivated, and they were encouraged. It’s quite illuminating. You can see that our people are ready to take government from the dancing government," he said.

He also consulted with community leaders, traders, civil servants, and others across the state.

"After that, I had to go again to consult with the canvassers, the community leaders, the artisans, the Iyalojas, the Babalojas, and even the civil servants. And after that, I was convinced beyond doubt that our people in Osun are ready for a change," Oyebamiji said.

The APC candidate expressed confidence that he would win, no matter the influence of the Federal Government or any other political forces.

"By special grace of God, I’m coming in as the governor of Osun come 15th of August 2026. This is something that is not far-fetched. It is not by any power, whether it is a national power or it is mighty power, it is by the people," he said.

Oyebamiji also mentioned that his campaign received support from around 42 groups in the state in the last two months.

"In the last two months, I have been endorsed by almost 42 sectors, groups and groups. The private enterprise, even the government, the civil servants are endorsed," he said.

He mentioned that traders, women, youths, and other groups were among those who supported him.

Oyebamiji dismissed worries about Adeleke’s popularity. He believes his experience makes him a better candidate.

"So I want you to just go and bury that idea of 'marries', because they are jittery. They are jittery because, of course, I can’t compare," he said.

He urged voters to look at both candidates' qualifications and experience when deciding who should run the state.

"Put Bola Oyebamiji with his background and put the governor side by side, and you want to employ an MD of a private enterprise. Who out of those two would you pick?" he asked.
