Pastor found dead in church under suspicious circumstances

A pastor from the Power in the Word of God for the World Ministry in Oron, Akwa Ibom State, has died. Residents in the area think he may have taken his own life.

This incident took place on Thursday, 23 July, at the church on Etim Inyang Street in Oron Local Government Area.

Videos that are making the rounds on social media show people believed to be church members taking the pastor’s body out of the church. In another video, his body, wrapped in cloth, was seen inside a police pickup truck from the Oron Area Command.

The details about how the pastor died are still not clear.

PREMIUM TIMES could not confirm the claims on social media that the pastor committed suicide. The police had not released any official statement when this report was being prepared.
