The Ondo State Police have arrested three men suspected of dealing drugs. They recovered cannabis, tramadol, codeine syrup, and Tutolin syrup during a patrol in Akure, the state capital.

Abayomi Jimoh, the police spokesperson, shared this news in a statement on Thursday.

The suspects are Fisayo Adedamola, Adeola Oluwaseun, and Adeogun Olumide. They were arrested on July 24 by the Anti-Cultism Squad. This happened during a patrol to build confidence in the Akure area.

Jimoh mentioned that a search during the operation led to the recovery of various drugs. These included cannabis, tramadol capsules, codeine syrup, and Tutolin syrup, which are often abused.

The suspects are now in police custody, and the seized items will be used as evidence in court.

The spokesperson also said investigations are ongoing. They aim to find out where the drugs came from, who else might be involved, and if there is a larger criminal network at play.

Once the investigation wraps up, the suspects will face charges in court.

Commissioner of Police Felix Ohagwu spoke about the arrests. He emphasized that the police are serious about fighting the rise of illegal drugs in the state.

He said, "Drug abuse and trafficking cause many violent crimes, including cult activities and armed robbery. We will keep targeting those involved in the drug trade."

Ohagwu called on parents, guardians, and community leaders to stay alert. He urged the public to give the police useful information that can help catch drug traffickers and other criminals.

He also assured that the police will keep working hard to create a safe environment. They will use proactive policing, intelligence operations, and cooperation with the public. He warned criminals to stop illegal activities or face serious consequences.
