Police catch man selling stolen N2m block machine in Akwa Ibom

Operatives from the Akwa Ibom State Police have arrested a 23-year-old man named Emmanuel Etim. He is accused of stealing an industrial block moulding machine vibrator worth over N2 million.

DSP Timfon John, the command’s Public Relations Officer, released a statement in Uyo on Thursday. He said that the suspect was caught while trying to sell the stolen machine.

The statement noted that the machine was taken from the Ikot Ekpene International Market. Police have recovered the equipment and are working to catch the other gang members who are still free.

The statement included, "Police detectives got a report about the theft of an industrial block moulding machine vibrator valued at about N2 million from the Ikot Ekpene International Market project site along Calabar, Itu Road. They started a coordinated investigation that led to the arrest of Emmanuel Etim, 23, while he was trying to sell the stolen equipment."

The statement added, "The stolen machine was successfully recovered. We are intensifying efforts to catch the other accomplices who are still at large."
