Shettima and Yari Rally Support for Tinubu’s Re-election in Kaduna
Vice President Kashim Shettima calls for renewed support for the APC in Kaduna, citing significant investments in education and infrastructure under Tinubu's administration.

Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on voters in Kaduna State to renew their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC). He said the party deserves re-election because of the projects and policies delivered under President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Shettima made this call on Saturday at the APC campaign rally in Kaduna. He pointed out the administration’s investments in education and infrastructure as proof that the party has kept its promises to the state.
The vice president said they have worked hard to restore Kaduna’s status as a learning centre. This has been done through the establishment and upgrading of educational institutions.
“We promise to bring back the glory of Kaduna State as the national centre of learning. Didn’t we deliver on that?” he asked the crowd.
He mentioned the creation of the Federal University of Applied Sciences and the transition of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, as some of the administration’s efforts in the state.
Shettima also spoke about the vocational institutes set up in Rigachikun, Soba, and Samaru. He noted that over 4,000 people have graduated from these institutions.
He added that the administration has increased education funding through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), benefiting hundreds of thousands of students in universities across Nigeria.
The vice president also highlighted major infrastructure projects in the North. These include the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline, Kano-Maradi railway, Lagos-Kano rail corridor, and the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road.
He mentioned the ongoing work on the Sokoto-Badagry highway. He described this project as one that would open up opportunities for farming and economic activities.
Shettima said the APC has shown it is committed to completing projects started by previous governments. He urged Northern voters to support Tinubu’s second term bid, saying the President has shown political support for northern leaders over the years.

He recalled Tinubu’s backing for Atiku Abubakar when Atiku left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as support for Nuhu Ribadu in the 2011 presidential election and Muhammadu Buhari in the elections of 2015 and 2019.
Shettima said Tinubu’s ties with the North began long before he became president. He also praised Kaduna Governor Uba Sani for promoting unity in the state and ensuring the benefits of governance reach beyond urban Kaduna.
He encouraged the people of Kaduna to keep supporting the APC at both federal and state levels. “We have the courage to come to Kaduna today because we have kept our promise to never relegate you,” he said.
Also at the rally, the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and former Zamfara State governor, Abdul’aziz Yari, claimed that about two million farmers have pledged to support Tinubu’s re-election.
Yari said the administration’s policies on agriculture, the economy, education, healthcare, and social support programs will be key points in the APC’s campaign for the 2027 election.
He said the party will focus on its achievements instead of just promises. He pointed to what he called improvements in the exchange rate, foreign reserves, and other economic indicators.
Yari, who is also a serving senator, pledged support for Tinubu across Northern Nigeria. He said the region is ready to secure the president’s re-election in 2027.
“Northern Nigeria is 101 per cent, by God’s grace, for you, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he declared.
The Kaduna rally is part of APC’s nationwide effort to mobilize support ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
