President Tinubu held a meeting with Middle Belt leaders at the Presidential Villa. Details on the discussions remain unclear as the elections approach.
President Bola Tinubu met with a group of leaders from the Middle Belt and North-Central regions on Friday. The meeting took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and was led by retired General Theophilus Danjuma.
The group included several prominent figures. They were the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa; Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang; Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; former Chief of Army Staff, Ishaya Bamaiyi; businessman Thomas Etuh; and Dr Poju Bitrus.
Bayo Onanuga, who is the special adviser to the President on information and strategy, shared details about the meeting in a statement on Friday.

But the presidency did not share why the meeting happened. They did not mention what was discussed or if any agreements were made between the leaders and the president.
This meeting comes at a time when political activities are increasing. With the 2027 general elections approaching, President Tinubu is engaging with political stakeholders and supporters across Nigeria.
