Tinubu names six new leaders for NMDPRA

President Bola Tinubu has picked six executive directors for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) in a letter to the Senate.

Three of the nominees are being reappointed while three are new faces. After the Senate gives its approval, all nominees will serve for five years.

The reappointed executive directors are Abiodun Adeniji, who is in charge of Finance and Accounts; Ogbugo Ukoha, who handles Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure; and Mustapha Lamorde, who oversees Health, Safety, Environment and Community.

The new executive directors include Mobolaji Musa, who will manage Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installations and Transportation Infrastructure; Ogechukwu Modie, who is responsible for Economic Regulations and Strategic Planning; and Said Abutalib, who will lead Corporate Services and Administration.

President Tinubu has asked the Senate to look at these nominations quickly. He wants to make sure that the authority can keep running smoothly and strengthen its oversight role.

The president also approved Jumoke Gafar as the secretary to the Board/Authority and Legal Adviser. This is pending the completion of the required processes under Section 46 of the Petroleum Industry Act.

In April, President Tinubu appointed Rabiu Umar as the chief executive of NMDPRA.
