Ogun State is making waves in digital transformation. This has earned Governor Dapo Abiodun a big national award. He was named Governor of the Year, Public Service Innovation at the Nigeria eGovernment Excellence Awards 2026.
The Nigeria eGovernment Summit organized the award. It recognized Abiodun’s efforts in using technology and e-governance changes. These steps aim to modernize public administration, improve services, and boost transparency and citizen involvement.
The organizers praised Ogun State’s digital growth and creativity. They highlighted the administration’s tech-driven projects as key moves towards a more efficient, accessible, and citizen-focused public service.
Under Abiodun’s leadership, Ogun has rolled out digital platforms for government operations. Technology is being used to make it easier for people to access public services. This also helps to streamline administrative tasks and improve interactions between the government and the citizens.
When he received the award, Governor Abiodun expressed gratitude to the organizers. He called it a motivation for his government to further embrace Information and Communication Technology in governance.
He promised that his administration will keep pushing reforms to enhance the lives of residents. Abiodun stressed that his dedication to better governance will stay strong until his final day in office.
