The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kwara State has arrested two people for allegedly running an unlicensed private security firm called Double Razzor.

The suspects are Abraham Job and Adebowale Adeniyi.

Their arrest came after an investigation into whether the firm had the right license to provide bouncer and other security services.

This information was shared in a statement on Monday by the command's Public Relations Officer, Ayoola Shola, in Ilorin.

The statement said that early findings showed worries about the firm’s compliance with laws for private guard companies in Nigeria.

"The suspects were arrested following an investigation into the outfit’s activities, particularly its licensing status and authorisation to provide bouncer and other private security services.

"The alleged offences under investigation include operating a private security outfit without the requisite licence and providing regulated security services without the necessary statutory authorisation," the statement read.

The command explained that the NSCDC is in charge of regulating and licensing private guard companies in Nigeria. They stressed that operators must get the right approvals before starting any regulated security activities.

The State Commandant, Abbas Mohammed, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to enforcing the rules and stopping unauthorized private security operations across Kwara State.

He urged event planners, businesses, and the public to only hire licensed security providers. This will help ensure the law is followed and keep everyone safe.

The statement also mentioned that the command will keep working to clean up the private security sector, protect lives and property, and promote accountability in security operations throughout the state.
