Oyebanji Launches APC Campaign Team for 2027 Elections
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has launched the APC campaign team for the 2027 elections, emphasizing the need for grassroots mobilization and voter tracking.

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Friday kicked off the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council in the state. He urged members to focus on grassroots mobilization and voter tracking to secure votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
The council includes political leaders, federal appointees, members of the National Assembly, state legislature, and other important stakeholders. This diverse group shows the APC's commitment to achieving a strong victory for Tinubu.
While inaugurating the council, Oyebanji highlighted that the main job for the 157-member team was not just to organize rallies and campaigns. They also need to find eligible voters who missed previous elections and encourage them to vote for the President.
As the state coordinator and chairman of the council, Oyebanji believes the experienced political leaders and stakeholders gathered will help bring in a large number of votes for the President during the election.
Oyebanji expressed worry that only about 400,000 out of over one million registered voters in the state voted in the June 20 governorship election. He charged the council to “focus on finding registered voters who didn’t vote in the governorship election, understand why they stayed away, and make sure they are mobilized to vote in 2027.”
The governor stated that the council would take a structured approach to track eligible voters across polling units, wards, and local government areas.
Oyebanji encouraged party members to set aside their political differences. He wants them to work with all willing supporters, regardless of their party affiliation. He stressed that the effort to mobilize voters should not be limited to just APC members.
The governor noted that the council would create a solid voter-tracking system covering all 16 local government areas and polling units in the state within the next two weeks. Members are expected to identify and mobilize eligible voters ahead of the election.

Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, spoke on behalf of the campaign council members. He promised their dedication to the task, calling it achievable due to the experience and political setup available to the party in the state.
Bamidele praised Oyebanji for forming an inclusive council. He mentioned that the recent governorship election, which saw the governor re-elected, had given the APC valuable experience and momentum as they head into the presidential poll.
He assured the governor that the members would take their roles seriously. They aim to improve electoral performance for Tinubu in 2027.
Bamidele also welcomed candidates from other parties, including Dr Wole Oluyede of the People’s Democratic Party, who came to the inauguration. He described their presence as a sign of political goodwill and a sign that the campaign council is open to wider collaboration.
In his comments, the APC State Chairman, Sola Elesin, stated that the council was formed to gather support and votes for Tinubu’s re-election. The goal is to surpass the votes the President received in past elections in the state.
Elesin urged council members to show commitment, dedication, and responsibility, saying Ekiti should be among the top states in delivering votes for the President in 2027.
