Police nab two robbery suspects, seize three guns in Ogun
The Anti-Robbery Team in Ogun State has arrested two suspects involved in armed robbery. They recovered three guns and live cartridges during the operation.

Operatives of the Anti-Robbery Team in Ogun State have arrested two men linked to an armed robbery gang. They also recovered three locally made pistols and 18 live cartridges from the suspects.
The arrested suspects are Adeyinka Onakomaya, 46, and Olayiwola Kehinde, 48. They were caught during an investigation into a stolen red Toyota Matrix connected to a robbery that happened in April 2026.
DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police spokesperson, shared this news in a statement to journalists on Wednesday. He explained that the arrests came after a lot of work by the Anti-Robbery Team, who followed up on leads after finding the stolen vehicle.
Babaseyi said the operatives tracked the suspects to their hideouts in the Babaode area, along Idiroko Road, Ota, Ogun State, and also in the Command area of Lagos State.
"Preliminary investigations showed that the two arrested men, along with other gang members, planned the robbery in April and took part in many armed robberies and violent vehicle thefts around Ota, Iju, Babaode, and Atan areas of Ogun State," Babaseyi said.
He mentioned that a search after their arrest led to finding "three locally made pistols and eighteen live cartridges."

The spokesperson added that during questioning, the suspects admitted to being involved in several armed robberies in the area. They are also giving information to help with the ongoing investigation.
"Efforts are being made to find, identify, and catch other members of the gang who are still on the run for possible prosecution," Babaseyi said.
Bode Ojajuni, the state Commissioner of Police, praised the Anti-Robbery Team for their hard work and commitment to following up on investigations.
Ojajuni stated that the recovery of the guns and the arrest of the suspects show the police command's dedication to seeing criminal cases through to the end. He encouraged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious people or activities to the police using the emergency numbers.
