Shettima and Yilwatda Rally Support for Tinubu in Ekiti
Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda led a rally in Ekiti to support President Tinubu for the upcoming elections. The event highlighted the party's strong backing.

Vice President Kashim Shettima and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, have taken the lead in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State. They are working to gather support for President Bola Tinubu as the 2027 general elections approach.
The rally saw many party leaders, members of the National Working Committee, governors, and other key APC members in attendance. They also introduced the party’s candidates for the upcoming elections.
Yilwatda shared the news on his X account on Thursday. He called the large crowd a sign of the people’s trust in the APC.
He mentioned that the event showed the party's strong will to secure its position ahead of the 2027 elections.
“The excitement was palpable, the atmosphere electrifying, and the massive crowd that turned out to receive us was a powerful demonstration of the people’s enthusiasm, confidence and unwavering faith in the APC,” he said.
During the rally, the APC chairman called for support for Tinubu’s administration. He described the President as a performer and reformer who is laying the groundwork for a better Nigeria.
“Our message was clear: President Tinubu is a performer, a reformer and a leader whose policies are laying the foundation for a more prosperous Nigeria,” Yilwatda stated.
He also talked about infrastructure projects in Ekiti State. He highlighted the building and repair of roads linking Ado-Ekiti to Akure, along with other completed and ongoing projects.
According to him, these investments show the Federal Government’s effort to improve transport, boost economic activities and raise the living standards of Nigerians.

In his comments on the administration’s economic policies, Yilwatda defended the current tax reforms. He said these reforms aim to protect low-income earners and small businesses from heavy tax burdens.
“The ongoing tax reforms are designed to protect low-income earners and small businesses, ensuring that those who should not pay taxes are no longer burdened with unnecessary tax obligations,” he said.
He also pointed out the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a key effort by the administration to make higher education more accessible.
Yilwatda said that qualified students would receive a monthly allowance of N20,000 to help with their educational expenses.
He explained that these policies aim to create more opportunities, empower citizens and strengthen Nigeria’s development.
The APC chairman emphasized that the warm reception in Ekiti shows the party's readiness and unity for the 2027 elections.
“Ekiti has spoken through its enthusiasm. The message is unmistakable: the APC is ready, united and determined to consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he added.
The rally is part of the APC’s efforts to mobilize support as they prepare to present their candidates and seek backing ahead of the 2027 elections.
