Yari Wants 800,000 Votes for Tinubu in Ekiti
Abdulaziz Yari calls for 800,000 votes for Tinubu in Ekiti, highlighting the President's contributions to the state and urging voters to increase support.

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council and former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, is calling on voters in Ekiti State to back President Bola Tinubu’s re-election effort in 2027. He believes the President has done well and deserves another term.
Yari made this appeal on Thursday at the APC campaign rally in Ekiti State. He asked the people to aim for at least 800,000 votes for Tinubu, which is about 90 percent of the expected votes in the state.
At the rally, which our correspondent watched on television, Yari said that Tinubu has not forgotten Ekiti State. He pointed out investments in education, road building, youth support, and women’s empowerment.
“Asiwaju has not forgotten the people of Ekiti. He has done his best by introducing schools and universities, constructing roads, providing educational support to youths and empowering women, among other initiatives,” he stated.
Yari reminded the crowd that Ekiti gave Tinubu 80 percent of its votes during the 2023 presidential election. He urged them to increase their support in 2027.
“Today, out of 1,080,000 registered voters, more than 900,000 have collected their Permanent Voter Cards. I want to make a request, which is also the request of the President.
“We are looking for 800,000 votes, representing about 90 percent of the votes cast. That is why I am asking for 90 percent,” he explained.
He mentioned that candidates who ran against Governor Biodun Oyebanji in past elections, including those from the Peoples Democratic Party, Allied Peoples Movement, and Social Democratic Party, were at the rally to show support for the governor and Tinubu’s re-election.

Yari called on Ekiti leaders to rally the people, saying the President promised to do more for the state if he is re-elected.
He also challenged opposition parties to clarify how their plans would be different from those of the Tinubu administration. He claimed that the government has cut inflation and food prices by more than 50 percent.
“We in Northern Nigeria consider Bola Ahmed Tinubu one of our own, just as much as the people of Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Osun, and Lagos do.
“Bola Ahmed Tinubu has supported our people and helped them become number one citizens of this country on three occasions. Therefore, we in the North are ready to support Asiwaju in 2027, and we will deliver for him from A to Z,” he said.
Yari urged Ekiti residents to make sure the efforts of the administration do not go to waste. He added, “The labour of this great democrat cannot be allowed to go in vain.”
Tinubu is looking to be re-elected in the presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
