17-Year-Old Girl Dies After Falling from Building in Imo

The Imo State Police Command has confirmed that 17-year-old Chiamaka Chukwuokore has died. She was allegedly pushed from a two-storey building by 26-year-old Ifeanyi Chukwu Joseph in Owerri.

This sad event happened on Sunday along Mbonu Ejike Street, Ikeneagbu, in the state capital.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, said that after the victim’s death, the suspect now faces a murder charge.

“Following the victim’s death, the suspect is now facing a murder allegation. He remains in police custody as investigations continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that justice is served,” Okoye said.

The Commissioner of Police, Audu Bosso, expressed sympathy to the family of the deceased. He assured the public that a thorough investigation is in progress.

The police command urged everyone to stay calm. They advised against spreading unverified information and asked people to allow the police to perform their duties properly.
