Jigawa APC Starts 2027 Campaign Council to Support Tinubu and Namadi
The APC in Jigawa State has inaugurated its 2027 campaign council led by Governor Namadi. The council aims to unify efforts for Tinubu and Namadi's re-election.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has set up its 2027 Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council. Governor Umar Namadi is the Chairman, while Lawan Ya’u Roni is the Director-General.
This inauguration includes important party leaders and political stakeholders in a joint campaign effort. They aim to mobilize support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Namadi as the 2027 general elections approach.
Key members of the council include Deputy Governor Aminu Usman, former Governor Ali Sa’adu Birnin Kudu, former Governor Ibrahim Saminu Turaki, and the state’s APC chairman, Ahmad Garba MK, who are all Deputy Chairmen.
Other officials are Senator Muhammad Ibrahim and Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia as vice chairmen for North-East I and II. Hon Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin and Hon Farouk Adamu Aliyu will serve as vice chairmen for South-West I and II. Isa Gerawa and Mrs Rabi Ishaq are the vice chairmen for North-West I and II.
After the inauguration, Governor Namadi spoke about how combining the presidential and governorship campaign structures aims to improve coordination. He wants the party to have a unified front for the 2027 elections.
Namadi was pleased with the crowd at the event. He said it shows the APC’s strength and ongoing presence in Jigawa State.
The governor believes this gathering boosts his confidence in the party’s ability to win at all levels in the upcoming elections. He urged party leaders and supporters to unite for the re-election of President Tinubu, his own return as governor, and the election of APC candidates in the Senate, House of Representatives, and the Jigawa State House of Assembly.
“By the grace of Allah, we are confident that we will deliver victory for Mr President, the Governor, our Senators, members of the House of Representatives and members of the State House of Assembly,” Namadi said.
Namadi also showed confidence that Jigawa State would deliver two million votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

“Judging by what we have witnessed today, we are confident that we will deliver those votes for Mr President, Insha Allah.”
At the event, the two former governors of Jigawa State, Ali Sa’adu Birnin Kudu and Senator Ibrahim Saminu Turaki, praised Governor Namadi. They commended his achievements in executing people-focused projects and driving development in the state in less than four years.
Ali Sa’adu Birnin Kudu praised Namadi for his integrity and accountability. He said the governor's record leaves little room for criticism.
“Today in Jigawa, everybody agrees that Governor Namadi is an honest man. Nobody can question his integrity or accuse him of mismanaging public funds. Anyone who says anything negative about him does so out of envy, hatred or jealousy, because there is nothing to fault him for,” he said.
Ibrahim Saminu Turaki also praised Namadi. He called him a fair, principled, and compassionate leader. He pointed out how the administration has made significant progress in infrastructure and education.
He highlighted the improvement in road infrastructure across the state and the recruitment of thousands of teachers, which he said had not happened since he was in office.
“Can anyone point to another state in Nigeria today with excellent road networks comparable to those in Jigawa? Since I left the office, no teachers had been recruited. There were schools that had to close down because of a shortage of teachers. Who, today, has recruited thousands of teachers as Governor Namadi has done?” he asked.
