Governor Dauda Lawal has named three qualified people to lead important national programs in Zamfara State.

The Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, made the announcement. He said the appointments aim to improve cooperation with the Federal Government for better execution of national social development programs.

According to the announcement, Mr Abdullahi Umar will be the State Coordinator for the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP 2.0).

NJFP is a key project by the federal government. It is managed by the Vice President's office and carried out by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with funds from the European Union. This program is meant to help Nigerians gain skills, mentorship, and opportunities for building lasting careers.

In the same breath, Governor Lawal appointed Aliyu Manir Mayana as the State Programme Manager for N-Power. He also named Hauwau Barau Suleman as the State Programme Manager for Grant for Vulnerable Group (GVG).

Both N-Power and GVG are parts of the National Social Investment Programmes. N-Power aims to empower youth and create jobs, while GVG offers cash grants to the poorest and most vulnerable Nigerians.

Mr Umar has a lot of experience in both public and private sectors. He has worked in several roles, including as Data Management Officer at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and as Zonal Financial and Admin Officer at Pathfinder International. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting and Auditing from Kaduna Polytechnic.

Mr Mayana graduated with a degree in Islamic Studies from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in 2010. He has over ten years of experience in the Social Department of the Gusau Local Government Council.

Ms Suleman holds a degree in Computer Science (Education) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She also has significant experience in delivering humanitarian services.

Governor Lawal urged the appointees to carry out their duties with dedication, transparency, and integrity. He wants them to ensure the smooth implementation of their programs in the state.
